Does my ex still love me?
Probably. Feelings don't switch off on a breakup date. But this is the wrong question — and asking it has cost people years. The right question is harder and more useful: are they willing to do something about it?
Love vs. willingness
Love is a feeling. Willingness is a decision plus a behavior. People can hold enormous love and zero willingness at the same time — and when they do, the love is real and the outcome is the same. This is why "but I know they still love me" can be true and still not change anything.
Willingness shows up as: initiating contact, making plans, naming what went wrong without being asked, choosing you on an ordinary Tuesday. Love shows up as a song that makes them sad. Only one of these rebuilds anything.
How to read willingness
Watch what they spend, not what they feel: time, effort, ego. Do they reach out unprompted? Do they ask real questions? Do they come toward you when it's inconvenient? If you're doing all the interpreting and they're doing none of the moving, that's your answer — regardless of what the feelings say. The four real signs are willingness in disguise.
What it means if they love you and still don't come back
It means the story they tell themselves has a door marked "closed" and love is standing outside it. You cannot argue a person into opening it. You can only be the version of you that makes the door worth opening — or get your own life going and see if the question even matters in six months. Both of those are better uses of tonight than staring at a phone.

Can love come back stronger?
It can — but only in a reunion where the pattern that ended things actually changed. Otherwise it's the same love with the same ending.
Why did they leave if they loved me?
Because love and compatibility are different things. People leave relationships they still love constantly — timing, structure, or habit stopped working.
Should I tell them I love them?
A declaration at the wrong moment is pressure wearing its best clothes. If anything is said, keep it a calm, small truth that demands no reply.
